Safety Program

Our award-winning safety program is one piece of our overall Quality Management Program (QMP) rather than a separate department or function.  Our focus and purpose sets three standards, Quality, Productivity, and Safety as equals in our daily work lives.  Every department and every employee is responsible for maintaining all three simultaneously. This three-part focus has gained us a reputation for being a safe, on time and on-budget contractor, performing quality work.

Plan implementation starts in the planning phase where labor requirements and hazards are analyzed. We check our Personnel Training Database to make sure we’re staffing the project with the right individuals.  Ensuring that employees have the proper training to match hazards and job requirements is more important than reactive rules enforcement.

A formal safety committee with representatives from all divisions and members of our executive team meet to approve policy changes and set program activity goals and objectives.  A dedicated Corporate Risk Manager reports to our executive team on program progress as well as holding them accountable to what B&D has committed to our customers in our written policies.

All tier subcontractors will either follow B&D’s applicable safety plan or have a plan that has been pre-qualified and approved by B&D.
